Here's the finished bathroom....look at the photos later on to see how horrible it was. This was my practice bathroom as I had seen the beautiful jobs that people did on Pinterest so I figured I should give it a go.
Here's what it looked like previously....horrible cream laminate cabinets and countertop.
Ugly laminate....I hated this so much.
First I used beadboard wallpaper on the cabinets and then framed it with trim.
For the countertop, I primed it first.
Then I started sponging on Kraft paint in different colors to mimic granite....this took a lot of patience...in the beginning it looked like a cat got loose on it but after adding layers ontop of layers it started looking better.
Here's a closeup of the colors. I even used some gold to add a glimmer to it.
Here's when I had finished.
Then I added Envirotex Lite to it which I got from Michael's with the 40% coupon, I think it ended up being $20 or so after. This gave it a beautiful shine, like you see on those fancy bar tops.
Here's a side view. It goes on pretty thick and it's a bit intimidating to use however after trying it, I would do it again as it wasn't too hard.
Here's the cabinets after I used Rust-Oleum's Cabinet Transformations in Quilter's White. I added the glaze and then wiped it off so it showed just in the edges. Then added drawer knobs.
Also just for fun, I converted the fake drawer into a useable one with hinges and a little tray...not sure what I can use it for but I'll figure something out.
Added some trim to the top of the backsplash to fill in the gap and repainted the walls in Valspar River Oaks ar519.
Framed the boring mirror medicine cabinet with the same trim and painted it in Rust-oleum's oil rubbed bronze paint (love that stuff!).
Here's a nicer view of the cabinet's....didn't they turn out awesome?
And here's the finished bathroom....beautiful....with the added new sink and faucet of course.
